Why FEMTO Unlock?

BMW’s factory software on post-06/2020 vehicles locks down the DME (ECU), restricting tuning capabilities. FEMTO Unlock safely and reliably removes these limitations, giving you the freedom to choose your preferred tuning platform and performance upgrades.

Available Options

To ensure a seamless process, please select the correct options at checkout:

• DME Type: Single DME / Dual DME

• Vehicle Type: M Series / Non-M

• Unlock Type: Standard Unlock / Custom ROM Unlock

• Tuning Platform: FEMTO OBD, BM3, MHD, MHD+, MG Flasher

Standard Unlock

• Best for running OTS (Off-The-Shelf) maps only

• May allow flashing back to Stage 0 and switching between tuning suites (e.g., MHD ↔ BM3 for OTS maps)

• Does not support advanced features like Flex Fuel or map switching

Custom ROM Unlock

• Unlocks advanced features when supported by your car & tuning suite:

  • Map Switching

  • Flex Fuel (requires CAN Flex Fuel sensor)

  • Additional performance features

• Compatible with BM3, MHD, and other supported platforms

• Requires CAN Flex Fuel Sensor for Flex Fuel functionality (e.g., BM3 CAN Flex Fuel, Dorch Engineering CAN Flex Fuel)
